Rangers to honor Bartolo Colon as all-time winningest pitcher from Latin America

The Texas Rangers will honor Bartolo Colon in an on-field ceremony prior to the game with the Los Angeles Angels on Saturday, August 18 at Globe Life Park in Arlington. The ceremony will begin at approximately 6:45 p.m. prior to the 7:05 p.m. first pitch.

The Texas Rangers will honor Bartolo Colon in an on-field ceremony prior to the game with the Los Angeles Angels on Saturday, August 18 at Globe Life Park in Arlington. The ceremony will begin at approximately 6:45 p.m. prior to the 7:05 p.m. first pitch.
With his 246th career victory on August 7 against Seattle, Colon became the all-time Major League leader in wins for a native of Latin America. He surpassed Dennis Martinez, who won 245 games in a 23-year ML career from 1976-1998 with Baltimore, Montreal, Cleveland, Seattle, and Atlanta.
Martinez will be in Arlington to participate in Saturday's ceremony, which will include several presentations to Colon from the Rangers and their players. Martinez will also be signing autographs in the New Era Alumni Alley from 5:45-6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Colon defeated Arizona on Monday and is 247-186 in his big league career with Cleveland (1997-2002), Montreal (2002), Chicago White Sox (2003; 2009), Anaheim/Los Angeles Angels (2004-07), Boston (2008), New York Yankees (2011), Oakland (2012-13), New York Mets (2014-16), Atlanta (2017), Minnesota (2017), and Texas (2018). He is 7-10 in 24 games/22 starts with the Rangers this season.
