ST. PETERSBURG -- Relief pitcher Dylan Floro has been called up by the Rays from Triple-A Durham. Lefty reliever Dana Eveland was designated for assignment.
Tampa Bay also announced that the club has released right-handed reliever Ryan Webb. He was DFA'd on June 27.
Floro has a 2.81 ERA in 48 innings over 30 games for Durham this season, after converting from a starter before this season. He was drafted in the 13th round by the Rays in 2012, and this will be his first stint in the Major Leagues. Floro has only walked eight batters this season, while striking out 38.

"He's done some good things," Rays manager Kevin Cash said. "From what we've heard, he's a strike thrower, sinker ball, gets the ball on the ground quite a bit. Getting up there, there's going to be some nerves kicking. When he gets past that, we expect him to throw a lot of strikes for us."
Cash said he anticipates Floro will be able to throw more than one inning in outings. He made 22 starts last season for the Bulls, and he was moved to the bullpen to help speed up his readiness for the Major Leagues.
Eveland allowed three runs in one inning of work on Tuesday night, all with two outs. It was the second time this season that Eveland was designated for assignment. He has an 8.55 ERA in 20 innings this season.
