ST. PETERSBURG -- Colby Rasmus was not in the lineup again vs. the Reds on Wednesday afternoon, and the veteran outfielder has not played since Sunday.
Rays manager Kevin Cash told reporters that Rasmus has been dealing with a "little bit of a sore hip."
While Rasmus is dealing with soreness, he remains available for duty on Thursday if needed. However, Cash allowed that the Rays want to make sure Rasmus does not further aggravate the area.
The Rays have an off-day on Thursday. Should Rasmus return on Friday and the problem persists, the Rays might be faced with a decision on how to proceed. However, Cash did not sound as though Rasmus would be headed to the disabled list.
"Not overly concerned but felt like we better manage it," Cash said.
