BALTIMORE -- is on the disabled list and has not been optioned to Triple-A Durham, as reported on Tuesday.
The Rays announced on Tuesday that the infielder was optioned to Durham to make room on the 25-man active roster for newly acquired shortstop .
However, the Rays on Friday told reporters that Robertson apparently had been dealing with neck spasms at the time he was optioned. Thus, he is now on the 10-day DL, retroactive to Monday, and still in the Major Leagues.
Robertson, 23, is in his rookie season with the Rays. He is hitting .224 with five home runs and 16 RBIs. While his bat has been below what he's done in the past, his fielding has been exceptional.
Robertson's addition to the disabled list increased its numbers to 12.
