Norris departs game with back spasms

SEATTLE -- Rays catcher was removed from Saturday night's game at Safeco Field because of a back spasm suffered while swinging in his final at-bat of the game in the eighth inning and was listed as day-to-day.
The Rays fell to the Mariners, 9-2.
"It's more in the muscle, so we expect he'll be OK," Rays manager Kevin Cash said after the game. "Obviously, he's not going to play [Sunday afternoon], but he should be OK after that."
Norris lined out to left field against reliever and then left the field with a team trainer.
"It just grabbed him," Cash said. "I actually followed the ball, I didn't watch him, and then I saw him kind of walking really slowly back to the dugout."
He was replaced by , who figures to get the start in Sunday's series finale.
