Ryan Yarbrough picked up his 12th win of the season in a dominant effort for Triple-A Durham on Sunday.
Yarbrough, the Rays' No. 23 prospect, spun 7 2/3 scoreless frames as Durham avoided a sweep and beat Norfolk, 1-0.
The 25-year-old gave up three hits, struck out six and didn't issue a walk as he threw 61 of his 86 pitches for strikes and held his opponent without a run for the fifth time in his past eight starts.
"They were being aggressive early, so I was just trying to take advantage of that and trying to induce early contact," Yarbrough told MiLB.com. "It was a matter of mixing [my pitches] all up in certain counts, maybe where they weren't expecting certain pitches, so that just kind of works to get them off-balance."

Yarbrough was in complete control throughout the outing as he retired the first five batters he faced and then set down 10 in a row from the third to the sixth inning. In fact, Yarbrough, who has now held the opposition scoreless in back-to-back starts, didn't even allow a runner to get into scoring position.
Yarbrough, who has a 3.27 ERA through 22 starts, has thrown well for the bulk of the season, but has also turned it up a notch lately as he has a 1.64 ERA in five starts since the All-Star break.
Other top prospect performances from Sunday's action:
• No. 53 overall prospect Jack Flaherty (Cardinals' No. 3) spun a gem for Triple-A Memphis. Flaherty has given up one earned run or less in five of his past six start after throwing seven scoreless innings. The 21-year-old threw 65 of his 102 pitches for strikes, gave up two hits and struck out nine.
"If he fell behind hitters he was really good at getting back into the count," Memphis pitching coach Bryan Eversgerd told MiLB.com. "He obviously just executed his pitched. He mixed his slider really well with his fastball, really moved it around to keep them off-balance. He did a really nice job of controlling the game."

• No. 58 overall prospect Fernando Tatis Jr. (Padres' No. 4) provided the bulk of the offense in Class A Fort Wayne's 4-3 win. Tatis, who finished 2-for-3 with a homer, drove in two runs and scored two runs in the rain-shortened victory. The 18-year-old hit a solo homer in the fifth that ultimately proved to be the difference in the one-run game.

• No. 68 overall Willie Calhoun (Rangers No. 2) hit a pair of homers for Triple-A Round Rock in a win over Albuquerque. Calhoun, who now has five two-homer games in his career, hit a two-run homer in the sixth and a solo blast in the eighth. The 22-year-old has been on a power surge lately and has hit four homers in five games with the Express.

• Athletics No. 24 prospect Renato Nunez homered for the third straight day in Triple-A Nashville's win over Reno. Nunez, who finished 1-for-3, hit a solo homer in the fourth inning, giving him 30 on the season. The 30 homers not only give Nunez a career high, but they lead all of Minor League Baseball.

• Athletics No. 28 prospect Casey Meisner won his fourth straight decision as he spun another scoreless gem for Double-A Midland. Meisner hasn't given up a run in his past 14 innings after throwing seven scoreless against San Antonio. The 22-year-old threw 56 of his 93 pitches for strikes, yielded three hits and struck out six.

"I was pounding the fastball down to get ahead in the count," Meisner said. "I tried making them go on the defensive, instead of me. I was able to throw my pitches consistently so they didn't know what was coming. I just tried to focus on making good pitches and hope they roll over. If I throw quality strikes, then they have to swing at it and put the ball in play. My defense made the plays behind me."
• Astros No. 12 prospect Hector Perez put up a string of zeroes in a strong start for Class A Advanced Buies Creek. Perez threw six scoreless frames, giving up just three hits while striking out six.
• D-backs No. 27 prospect Christian Walker hit a pair of homers, but it wasn't enough to lift Triple-A Reno over Nashville. Walker, who has a career-high 28 homers this season, hit solo homers in both the sixth and eighth innings. The 26-year-old now has three two-homer games this season.

• Indians No. 14 prospect Conner Capel went deep twice in Class A Lake County's win over West Michigan. Capel, who has a career-high 18 homers this season, hit a two-run shot in the first and a solo homer in the fifth on his way to a 2-for-3, three-RBI night.
• Mets No. 13 prospect Luis Guillorme extended his hitting streak to seven games in a perfect day at the plate for Double-A Bimghamton. The 22-year-old went 3-for-3 with two walks, reaching base in all five plate appearances. Guillorme, who also scored a trio of runs, is hitting .292 through 101 games this season.
• Phillies No. 16 prospect Ranger Suarez put together another quality start in a win for Class A Advanced Clearwater. Suarez struck out 10 and yielded just one hit across six scoreless frames. The impressive outing is starting to become routine as Suarez has now given up one earned run or fewer in 10 of his past 12 starts.
"He just locates his fastball to both sides of the plate," Clearwater pitching coach Aaron Fultz told MiLB.com. "His changeup is a very good out pitch and he mixes in a curveball and a slider, just to get some strikes. His sinker was working. He was making them hit his pitchers' pitch because he was ahead in the count and they just beat it in the ground, which was prototypical Ranger."
• Tigers No. 27 prospect Spencer Turnbull picked up his sixth win of the season for Class A Advanced Lakeland as he gave up one earned run over seven innings. Turnbull struck out six, gave up five hits and has given up one earned run or fewer in four of his past five starts.
• Yankees No. 7 prospect Miguel Andujar began a new hitting streak one day after his 17-game streak came to an end. Andujar put Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on the board with a two-run homer, his 14th, in the first inning and finished the game 2-for-4. He's hitting .336 through 33 games at the Triple-A level. Billy McKinney (No. 25) also went deep for the RailRiders, hitting a two-run homer in the sixth.
