Rays prospects to take on Canadian Junior National Team in St. Petersburg's Annual International Baseball Series

As part of the Fifth Annual St. Petersburg International Baseball Series, a team of Rays minor league prospects will host the Canadian Junior National Team at Tropicana Field on Sunday, March 22 at 1:05 p.m.

Priced at $10, tickets go on sale tomorrow (March 4) at 10 a.m. at the Tropicana Field box office and Ticketmaster outlets. Parking will be $5 and Tropicana Field gates will open at noon.

The Canadian roster includes four of the top seven Canadian prospects leading into Major League Baseball's First-Year Player draft in June: outfielder-first baseman Josh Naylor from Mississauga, Ontario, outfielder Demi Orimiloye from Orleans, Ontario, right-handed pitcher Mike Soroka from Calgary, Alberta and outfielder Miles Gordon from Oakville, Ontario.

This game is one of 11 on the St. Petersburg International Baseball Series schedule which also includes teams from Puerto Rico and Clearwater Christian College, the major league Toronto Blue Jays and minor league teams from the Detroit Tigers, New York Yankees, Baltimore Orioles, Philadelphia Phillies, Pittsburgh Pirates and Atlanta Braves.

An introductory press conference will be held on Wednesday, March 11 at Noon at the Walter Fuller Baseball Complex (7901 30th Avenue N). In attendance will be St. Petersburg Mayor Rick Kriseman, representatives from the Canadian and Puerto Rican teams and Rays President Brian Auld.
