Rays Wives to host pet food drive on Sunday to benefit Pet Pal Animal Shelter

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.-The Tampa Bay Rays will host the second of two Dog Days at Tropicana Field on Sunday, September 7 when the Rays take on the Baltimore Orioles at 1:40 p.m. The Rays Wives will also host a pet food drive to benefit Pet Pal Animal Shelter in St. Petersburg.

With the purchase of a Dog Day special event ticket, available only at raysbaseball.com/specialevents, fans can bring their dog to the game and will receive a seat in the tbt* Party Deck along with a special Rays item. All dogs must enter through Gate 6. Tickets for this opportunity are limited.

Fans are encouraged to bring dog and cat food (preferably Science Diet brand) to Gate 1 or Gate 6 where Rays Wives and Pet Pal staff members will be on hand to collect the items. These donations will help the shelter's effort to give every pet a nutritious meal.

During the game, the Rays Wives will also hold a silent auction with items from Rays players and other All-Stars around the league on the tbt* Party Deck.

Pet Pal is a no-kill, non-profit organization committed to rescuing dogs and cats from animal shelters where they may otherwise be euthanized due to time limitations or lack of socialization or training. Pet Pal is also dedicated to educating the public about the pet overpopulation crisis, the importance of spaying/neutering and responsible pet ownership.
