Rea's ERA 1.18 after six scoreless for San Antonio

Double-A right-hander Colin Rea allowed four baserunners over five scoreless innings and Triple-A first baseman Cody Decker had four hits Thursday night in the Padres' farm system.

Rea, 24, allowed four hits and no walks with three strikeouts for San Antonio as he lowered his earned run average to 1.18, which is tied for the Texas League lead.

The Missions actually got two excellent starts in a doubleheader split against Midland in San Antonio. Right-hander Sean O'Grady (2-2, 4.38 ERA) allowed a run on five hits and no walks with three strikeouts in five innings in the second game.

Decker, 28, was 4-for-5 with two doubles, a RBI and three runs scored in the Chihuahuas 11-10 win over Salt Lake in El Paso. Decker raised his batting average to .278. Left fielder Alex Dickerson, 25, from Poway High, was 2-for-4 with four RBIs and a run scored as he raised his batting average to .312.

Other notable achievements in the Padres farm system:

-- San Antonio center fielder Travis Jankowski, who turned 24 last Monday, was 2-for-6 with a run scored in the doubleheader and now ranks third in the Texas League in batting average (.329), and second in hits (77), runs scored (45), steals (23) and on-base percente (.412).

-- Left fielder Nick Torres, 21, is hitting .385 over the last 13 games for low Single-A Fort Wayne with seven doubles and 10 RBIs. He also has an active seven-game hitting streak. Torres ranks sixth in the Midwest League with a .323 average. He leads the league in doubles (22).

-- Catcher Adolfo Reina (.260) hit a three-run homer to lead Single-A Lake Elsinore to a win.

There were two player moves Thursday in the organization. Infielder Taylor Lindsey was activated from the seven-day disabled list at El Paso and optioned to San Antonio. Infielder Rey Bruguera was then transferred from San Antonio to Lake Elsinore.

AROUND THE FARM:

TRIPLE-A EL PASO (33-34): CHIHUAHUAS 11, Salt Lake 10 - Decker and Dickerson led an 18-hit attack. 3B Brett Wallace (.305) was 3-for-4 with a walk and a run scored. CF Abraham Almonte (.307) was 3-for-5 with a double and a steal with two RBIs and a run scored. 2B Jedd Gyorko (.179) was 2-for-6 with the game-winning RBI and a run scored. Starting RHP Zack Segovia (7.24 ERA) allowed six runs on seven hits in 1 1/3 innings. RHP Daniel McCutchen (5.26 ERA) allowed four runs on five hits and two walks with five strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings. RHP Jerry Sullivan (3.12 ERA) allowed a hit with three strikeouts in two scoreless innings. RHP Kevin Quackenbush (1-0, 0.84 ERA) allowed a hit with a strikeout in s scoreless inning to get the win

DOUBLE-A SAN ANTONIO (29-36): Midland 4-1, MISSIONS 1-3 -- LF Yeison Asencio reached .300 by going 2-for-4 with a double, a hit-by-pitcher and a sacrifice fly. In the first game, RHP Michael Dimock (2.16 ERA) followed Rea with a strikeout in a perfect inning. But RHP Tayron Guerrero (1-4, 3.62 ERA) blew the save and took the loss, allowing four runs on three hits (including two homers) and a walk with a strikeout in an inning. LHP Brandon Alger (5.57 ERA) struck out two in an perfect inning following O'Grady in the second, seven-inning game. RHP Stephen Kohlscheen (4.32 ERA) walked one in a hitless inning to get his first save.  

HIGH SINGLE-A LAKE ELSINORE (28-38): Storm 8, LANCASTER 6 - 3B Gabriel Quintana (.247) backed Reina, going 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored. 1B Marcus Davis (.272) was 2-for-4 with his fourth homer and two runs scored. LF Nick Schulz (.223) was 1-for-2 with two walks and two runs scored. Starting RHP Kyle Lloyd (4-4, 5.03 ERA) allowed two runs on two hits and seven walks with six strikeouts in five innings. RHP Genison Reyes (5.32 ERA) allowed a walk with three strikeouts in 1 2/3 innings. RHP Jason Jester (8.03 ERA) allowed a run on two hits and a walk with a strikeout in an inning to get his second save.    

LOW SINGLE-A FORT WAYNE (29-36): TinCaps 4, WEST MICHIGAN 1 - Starting RHP Chris Huffman (3-3, 3.12 ERA) allowed one run on six hits and a walk with two strikeouts in five innings. RHP Yimmi Brasoban (2.66 ERA) allowed a hit with two strikeouts in three scoreless innings. RHP Colby Blueberg (1.25 ERA) allowed a hit and a walk in a scoreless inning to get his seventh save. 2B Chase Jensen (.215) was 2-for-3 with a double. DH Edwin Moreno (.285) was 2-for-4 with a double.

SHORT-SEASON SINGLE-A TRI CITY (0-1): BOISE 3, Dust Devils 1 - RHP Walker Lockett allowed one run on four hits and a walk with three strikeouts in Tri City's first game as a Padres affiliate. RHP Luis Hernandez allowed a run on a hit with a strikeout in an inning to take the loss.       

DOMINICAN SUMMER LEAGUE PADRES (9-8): Blue Jays 4, PADRES 3 - CF Dayon Olmo (.322) was 2-for-3 with two walks, two steals (11 on the season) and a run scored. RF Jaffe Garcia (.313) was 2-for-5. DH Luis Asuncion (.244) was 1-for-2 with three walks and a RBI. Starting LHP Joel Garcia allowed three runs (one earned) on two hits and three walks in two innings. RHP Juan Arias (0.00 ERA) allowed two walks with two strikeouts in three scoreless innings. RHP Adonis Diaz (0.00 ERA) allowed an unearned run on three hits with a strikeout in an inning.
