BOSTON -- While it would have been easy for the Red Sox to hang their heads after a 2-1 loss to the Orioles on Sunday, which stretched their losing streak to a season-high four games, no one in the clubhouse is worried.
The Red Sox were outscored, 23-3, over the first two games of the series at Fenway Park, but Sunday's loss may have been the hardest to take. Getting chance after chance, Boston had runners in scoring position in all but two innings and finished 1-for-13 with RISP while stranding 13 runners.
"We are in a dry patch. You look at the last four games, early leads given up to the opposition," Red Sox manager John Farrell said. "The turn of this game, we played solid, but a two-out base hit was elusive."

Chris Young had an especially tough day, stranding runners on the corners in the first and third innings and then flying out to right field in the fifth with the bases loaded against Orioles right-hander Wade Miley.
"That's a good lineup over there, no doubt about it," Miley said. "We went out and threw the ball well."
When the Red Sox finally did plate a run in the sixth on an RBI double by Rafael Devers, reliever Miguel Castro ended the threat by striking out Mookie Betts looking with the bases loaded.
Center fielder Rajai Davis also grounded into an inning-ending double play with runners on the corners in the seventh..
"More than anything, it was a day of frustration. We did a very good job of creating opportunities, but they scattered them," Farrell said. "We didn't combine many and we had some big opportunities."
Betts doesn't think the team has been pressing.
"I don't think we are having trouble," he said. "A couple of days ago, we weren't having this conversation. It is just a couple of rough days. It is just baseball. It happens. Tomorrow we may get 20 hits."
With the Red Sox holding a 2 1/2-game lead over the Yankees in the American League East, the club recognizes how big the upcoming seven-game road trip against the Blue Jays and Yankees is for their division title hopes.
"This is where our team has performed at its best. When we are faced with adversity, we come together and rally around each other," Farrell said. "We have a good challenge ahead of us, but I've loved the way we have responded to challenges throughout the year."
