Sox prospect Ranaudo goes seven scoreless in win

Allows five hits with five strikeouts; Brentz goes 3-for-4 with his sixth homer

Right-hander Anthony Ranaudo, the Red Sox No. 8 prospect, threw seven scoreless innings on Thursday as Triple-A Pawtucket defeated Indianapolis, 4-0.

Ranaudo, ranked No. 97 on MLBPipeline.com's Top 100 Prospects list, threw 109 pitches in his longest start of the season. He scattered five hits, struck out five batters and walked one.

In nine starts this season, Ranaudo has a 3.47 ERA. He has struck out 42 batters and walked 24 in 46 2/3 innings.

Pawtucket's offense was led by outfielder Bryce Brentz, the Red Sox No. 15 prospect. He went 3-for-4 with two doubles and a home run, his sixth of the season. Third baseman Garin Cecchini, the Red Sox No. 4 prospect and No. 49 overall, added two hits and an RBI.
