Red Sox welcome back fans and say thank-you in 17-game opening month

Kids Eat Free, Fenway Franks are two-for-one, and Red Sox bring back $5 beer for the first time since 2004

The Red Sox begin their 2013 home season with a jam-packed April that features five opponents and 17 games in 21 days.

To welcome back fans, and to thank them for their loyalty - as represented by the streak of consecutive sell-outs that is expected to end in early April - the Red Sox will extend special April offers to children and families:  Kids Eat Free and Kayem Fenway Franks are two-for-one.  In addition, 11 of the 17 games will begin at 6:30 p.m. or earlier, including eight day games.

For adults, the Red Sox will bring back 12-ounce domestic draft beer for $5 for the first time since 2004, and for fans of all ages, hot chocolate will be at half-price.

While Opening Day is expected to sell out, the club's nearly 10-year-old sell-out streak is expected to end in April.  Tickets are still available for all 17 home games in April.

"These gestures are both a welcome back and a 'thank-you' for years of extraordinary support," said Red Sox Executive Vice-President/COO Sam Kennedy.  "We have a new team, with a new manager, and with a new attitude; we want fans of all ages to enjoy the unique atmosphere of Fenway Park right off the bat.

"Tickets are now more accessible, and we hope these thank-you gestures will make the Red Sox experience more affordable for more people.

"We owe special thanks to our partners, Kayem and Aramark.  Kayem is headquartered in Chelsea, Massachusetts, and they make the best hot dog in all of baseball.  Aramark has been a terrific concessions partner, and their cooperation has been a key to making this April offer possible."

Children 14 and under will receive a complimentary Kayem Fenway Frank, a bag of Goldfish, and a carton of juice.  Kids meals will be available from the time the gates open until the end of the third inning.  Fans of any age can enjoy two Kayem Fenway Franks for the price of one.  All items will be available at designated stands throughout Fenway Park.

Kayem Fenway Franks are the most popular food item at Fenway Park, with fans enjoying more than 500,000 in 2012.
