Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia underwent successful arthroscopic surgery on his left knee, the team announced Thursday morning.
Head team orthopedist Dr. Peter Asnis performed the surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital on Wednesday.
Pedroia helped Boston win the American League East for the first time since 2013, hitting .318 with 15 home runs and 74 RBIs in 154 games in 2016. The 33-year-old veteran is expected to make a full recovery and be ready in time for 2017 Spring Training.
