CINCINNATI -- The Reds made another move with hopes of fortifying their bullpen Tuesday when right-handed reliever Louis Coleman was signed to a Minor League contract. Coleman was also invited to big league camp at Spring Training, the club announced.
Last season, in his lone year with the Dodgers, the 30-year-old Coleman had a 4.69 ERA over a career-high 61 appearances. In 48 innings of work, he had a 1.438 WHIP and 45 strikeouts. He dealt with shoulder fatigue in August and struggled down the stretch, carrying a 10.80 ERA over his final 11 games.

Cincinnati, which had a liability with its bullpen in 2016, signed former closer Drew Storen to a one-year, $3 million contract plus incentives last week. Coleman will have an opportunity to compete for one of the seven or eight spots this spring.

From 2011-15, Coleman was a member of the Royals and had a 2.69 ERA over 117 games during his first three big league seasons. But he was beset by injuries in '14 and '15.
Coleman is one of 20 non-roster invitees the Reds currently have slated to be in camp, which opens when pitchers and catchers report to Goodyear, Ariz., on Feb. 13.
