ATLANTA -- After being placed on the 7-day disabled list on Friday after suffering a concussion, Billy Hamilton has started to progress in his recovery, Reds manager Bryan Price said before Monday's opener against the Braves.
"Yesterday was a really good day," Price said. "I know he has to show some repetition in how he feels. With each day, he'll be able to take on more exercise and then baseball activity. 
"I don't know what he's going to be green lighted to do today, because he's kind of got to go through his warmup stuff, but I'm hoping he'll be able to get into some baseball activity here soon."
Hamilton sustained the concussion when he was hit in the head sliding into third base Wednesday against the Cardinals. He was batting .417 (10-for-24) in June before the injury.
The 25-year-old center fielder is eligible to come off the DL for Thursday's series finale against the Braves, but Price said Hamilton will have to do baseball-related activities and more intense exercises before he can return.
"It's going to be hot [in Atlanta], and he's got to exert himself, which he's doing in different ways, but in lesser volume with doing stuff on the bike or treadmill," Price said. "I think sometimes that's what leads to the reproduction of the concussion symptoms is exerting yourself physically.
"So we'll continue to push that and verify he's OK before we consider him coming off on Thursday."
Worth noting
• Price said Raisel Iglesias and Michael Lorenzen could possibly return from the DL by the time the Reds conclude their current nine-game road trip, which starts Monday in Atlanta.
Iglesias, who was placed on the DL on May 1 with an impingement in his right shoulder, made his first rehab outing for Double-A Pensacola on Saturday, surrendering two hits and registering a pair of strikeouts over two scoreless innings.
Lorenzen has yet to make a Major League appearance this season after suffering a right elbow strain during Spring Training. He threw a bullpen session on Friday at Great American Ball Park and is expected to make his first rehab appearance with Triple-A Louisville on Monday night.
"I think Michael will have games that are a little more closely clustered together," Price said. "And we'll evaluate both of them there at the end and see if they need something else, if there's a box they need to check off or if there's something we're not comfortable with."
