Graterol, who turns 28 on Feb. 14, made his big league debut this season for the Angels and batted .286 with three RBIs in nine games. In 68 games at Triple-A Salt Lake, he batted .300/.340/.370 with two homers and 23 RBIs.
Cincinnati was looking to upgrade its catching depth this offseason behind in case former All-Star doesn't return on time from right hip and left shoulder surgeries earlier this year.
Guerrero, who was ranked as Arizona's No. 10 prospect by MLBPipeline.com, will turn 23 on Dec. 11. He split 2016 between Double-A and Triple-A and batted a combined .234/.281/.383 with nine homers and 54 RBIs.

Monday marked the second time this year that Sampson was designated for assignment by the Reds. He split last season between Triple-A Louisville and the big leagues. In 18 big league games -- including two starts -- over four stints, he had a 4.35 ERA. Sampson found some success in the second half as a long reliever and had a 3.86 ERA over his final 10 games.
Cabrera came up in May after Mesoraco was lost for the season. In 61 games, he batted .246/.279/.357 with three homers and 23 RBIs.
The Reds' 40-man roster remains full. The club has not made any major transactions yet this offseason, but it also claimed outfielder off of waivers from the A's on Oct. 6.
