Reds greats among ASG softball participants

CINCINNATI -- The first wave of baseball legends was revealed Monday among the participants for the All-Star Legends and Celebrity Softball Game at Great American Ball Park on July 12.

The roster will include Reds alumni Eric Davis, Paul O'Neill, Sean Casey and Aaron Boone; Hall of Famer Andre Dawson; Red Sox/Angels great Fred Lynn; and Olympic softball gold medalist Jennie Finch.

This group will play alongside talent from music, television, movies and more. Additional participants will be announced at a later date. The Legends and Celebrity Softball Game will be televised immediately following the Home Run Derby on ESPN on Monday, July 13.

Entertainment celebrities that have played in the game in previous years include Jon Hamm, January Jones, Eric Stonestreet, Jessica Biel, Chris Pratt, Kate Upton, Jason Aldean, Jimmy Kimmel and George Lopez.

The All-Star Legends and Celebrity Softball Game is the second game of a doubleheader during All-Star Sunday. Preceding the softball game will be the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game, which will air live on MLB Network, MLB.com and SiriusXM at 3 p.m. ET. That game will feature many of MLB's best young prospects from the U.S. and around the world.

Fans can cast their votes for starters at MLB.com and all 30 club sites -- on their computers, tablets and smartphones -- using the 2015 Esurance MLB All-Star Game Ballot until Thursday, July 2, at 11:59 p.m. ET. For the first time, voting is exclusively online, where fans may submit up to 35 ballots.

Following the announcement of the 2015 All-Stars, be sure to return to MLB.com and cast your 2015 Esurance MLB All-Star Game Final Vote for the final player for each league's All-Star roster. On Tuesday, July 14, watch the 2015 All-Star Game live on FOX, and during the game visit MLB.com to submit your choice for the Ted Williams Most Valuable Player Award presented by Chevrolet via the 2015 MLB All-Star Game MVP Vote.

The 86th All-Star Game will be televised nationally by FOX, in Canada by Rogers Sportsnet and RDS, and worldwide by partners in more than 200 countries via MLB International's independent feed.
