Price's challenge unsuccessful in Phillips' at-bat

CINCINNATI -- Manager Bryan Price unsuccessfully challenged a ruling in the ninth inning during the Reds' 2-1 defeat to the Rays on Friday.

Brandon Phillips was leading off when he and the Reds felt he was struck on the back foot by a 0-1 pitch from Rays ace David Price.

Home-plate umpire D.J. Reyburn ruled that the ball hit the dirt. Price disputed the call and requested the replay. After a one-minute, 33-second review, Reyburn's call was confirmed. The at-bat continued and Phillips struck out.
