Here's a look at top prospects to watch in today's Minor League action:

Hitter to watch: Taylor Trammell (Reds' No. 3), Dayton vs. Bowling Green (7 p.m. ET on MiLB.TV)

Trammell, MLBPipeline.com's No. 77 overall prospect, had a big game on Tuesday as he went 2-for-5 with a home run, a triple and a career-high five RBIs for Class A Dayton. It marked the fourth multi-hit performance in seven games for the 19-year-old outfielder, who's batting .357 with three home runs, 10 RBIs and six stolen bases during that stretch. Overall, Trammell has produced a .284 average with 45 extra-base hits (12 home runs) and 38 stolen bases over 118 games in his full-season debut.

Pitcher to watch: Jesus Luzardo (A's No. 6), Vermont at Lowell (6:35 p.m. ET)

Luzardo was excellent in his home debut for Class A Short Season Vermont, allowing one hit and striking out five over four scoreless innings. Acquired from the Nationals in the July deal for Sean Doolittle and Ryan Madson, the 19-year-old lefty has pitched to a 1.93 ERA in 18 2/3 innings since entering the A's system. Overall, Luzardo owns a 1.67 ERA and a 0.96 WHIP with 36 strikeouts and two walks in 32 1/3 innings.

Duel of the day: Sandy Alcantara (Cards' No. 9) vs. Josh Staumont (Royals' No. 9), Springfield at NW Arkansas (7 p.m. ET)

Alcantara, a 21-year-old righty, has been impressive as of late, allowing two runs or fewer in his past seven starts. The 6-foot-4 Cards prospect signed with St. Louis in 2013 out of the Dominican Republic. Alcantara sports a 4.38 ERA in 22 starts with Double-A Springfield this year, striking out 101 and walking 54 in 121 1/3 innings.

Staumont, a second-round pick out of Azusa Pacific University in 2015, is a flame-thrower who touches triple digits with his fastball. As difficult as he is to hit, Staumont has struggled with his control. He's walked 88 batters this season, the third most of any pitcher in the Minors. The righty looks to get back on track after posting a 6.37 ERA across two levels this seaon.
