After winning Eastern League player of the week last week, Phillies' No. 19 prospect Rhys Hoskins is off to a strong start this week. The 23-year-old first baseman led Reading to an 8-6, win, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and a career-high six RBIs.
Hoskins' hitting streak was halted after nine games when he went 0-for-4 on Sunday, but the prospect hit .467 last week and he picked up right where he left off after a day off on Monday.

In his first season at the Double-A level, Hoskins found himself hitting .246 on June 2, but his recent surge has raised his average to .286 and is tied for second in the Minors with 17 homers.

• Dansby Swanson provided the bulk of the offense in Double-A Mississippi's 5-1 win over Jackson as baseball's No. 6 prospect hit his third triple of the year and went 2-for-4 with a trio of RBIs.

• Joey Gallo's power has never been a question and the No. 7 overall prospect reminded everyone of that fact once again in Round Rock's 4-2 win over New Orleans. The Rangers' top prospect went 2-for-4 and homered for the third time in his past five games.

• Andrew Benintendi (Red Sox's No. 3) hit his second homer at the Double-A level, helping Portland come away with an extra-inning victory against Bowie, 5-4. The No. 21 overall prospect went 2-for-4 and has driven in at least one run in four of his past five games.
• Josh Bell (Pirates' No. 3) has caught fire for Indianapolis. The No. 44 overall prospect went 2-for-4 with a homer and has two or more hits in four of his last five games. The recent hot streak has also brought Bell's batting average up to .312, the highest it's been since he was hitting .318 on May 3.

• Willson Contreras (Cubs' No. 2) continues to rake. Contreras was 2-for-4 with a double in a 6-5 loss to Colorado Springs and is in the midst of a 19-game hitting streak. The No. 45 overall prospect is hitting .345 for Triple-A Iowa.

• Gary Sanchez (Yankees' No. 3) extended his hitting streak to eight and gave Scranton/Wilkes-Barre an early, 2-0, lead with a first-inning homer. The blast was Sanchez's seventh at Triple-A. Baseball's No. 53 overall prospect later drove in another run via a bases loaded walk and finished 2-for-4. The catching prospect is 4-for-13 in the three games since returning from the disabled list.

• Cubs No. 3 prospect Ian Happ (No. 68 overall) was 3-for-4 with a double and RBI for Myrtle Beach in a 5-4 loss to Frederick. The 21-year-old is hitting .279 in his first full professional season.
• Amed Rosario (Mets' No. 2) was one of the few St. Lucie Mets that had success against Yankees prospect Ian Clarkin. Baseball's No. 71 overall prospect drove in a run and collected a pair of doubles, while going 3-for-4 in a 2-0 win.
• Jen-Ho Tseng (Cubs' No. 24) continues to throw well for Double-A Tennessee. The 21-year old missed some time with shoulder soreness this year, but he's posted a 3.56 ERA through seven starts. After Tuesday's outing (one earned run in six innings in a 4-1 win over Chattanooga), Tseng has given up one run over his last three starts, a span of 13 1/3 innings.
• Indians No. 7 prospectMike Clevinger followed up the best start of his season with an equally impressive outing. Over his last two starts, Clevinger has allowed six hits and thrown 13 scoreless innings, including seven scoreless frames for Columbus in a 1-0 loss to Rochester on Tuesday.

• Ofelky Peralta (Orioles' No. 14) struck out seven and dropped his ERA to 2.89 with five strong innings for Delmarva in a 5-4 win over Kannapolis. The 19-year-old gave up one run on three hits.
• Rangers No. 14 prospect Ryan Cordell continues to show off the power for Double-A Frisco. Cordell set a career-high with 18 homers last year, but appears primed to eclipse that number this year as he already has 12, including the two he hit as part of a 3-for-4 performance in a 5-4 win over Midland.
Rangers No. 19 prospect Michael De Leon began play with four homers in 886 Minor League at-bats. Three at-bats later that total sat at six as the 19-year old had his first career professional multi-homer game. De Leon finished 2-for-4 with two RBIs as Class A Advanced High Desert topped Lake Elsinore, 11-5.
• Derek Hill (Tigers' No. 2) extended his hitting streak to six games and drove in his first run this month, going 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored for West Michigan in a 7-4 win over Fort Wayne.
• It's hard to get any more consistent than White Sox No. 21 prospect Thad Lowry. The 21-year-old has put up the same line in his past two starts for Winston-Salem. In each of his past two trips to the mound, Lowry allowed one run on seven hits across seven innings. He also walked none and struck out five in each of the starts. Despite Lowry's strong start Tuesday, Class A Advanced Winston-Salem lost to Wilmington in 14 innings.
• Ian Clarkin (Yankees' No. 10) put together his sixth quality start for Tampa this year. Clarkin, who missed all of 2015 due to an elbow injury, gave up one run on five hits in seven innings. However, the lefty was stuck with a loss and is 5-6 with a 3.30 ERA.
