The Dodgers' radio duo of Rick Monday and Charley Steiner signed new multiyear agreements with the team on Thursday.
Monday and Steiner have worked together for the past 12 seasons, calling games on the Dodgers' flagship station AM 570 LA Sports and the Dodgers Radio Network.
"Rick and Charley have been a great team in the broadcast booth," said Lon Rosen, the Dodgers' executive vice president and chief marketing officer. "The combination of the two talents over the past 12 years has provided Dodgers fans a thoroughly enjoyable journey through each and every game. We look forward to them continuing for many years to come."
Monday, 70, is in his 24th season as a Dodgers broadcaster and his 32nd season with the organization, eight of which were as a player. His playing career spanned 19 years with the Kansas City/Oakland Athletics, Cubs and Dodgers. He helped lead the Dodgers to a World Series championship in 1981 and three National League pennants.
"I have been privileged over the years to call the Dodgers family and Dodger Stadium home, and my broadcast partner my friend," Monday said. "I'm really looking forward to continuing this great experience with all of our wonderful fans."
Steiner, 66, is in his 12th season doing play by play for the Dodgers. The four-time Emmy Award winner and member of the National Radio Hall of Fame began his career in 1969, including 14 years with ESPN and three years with the Yankees.
"From the time I was 7 years of age, back when the Dodgers were in Brooklyn, all I ever wanted to be was an announcer for the Dodgers," Steiner said. "And to continue on in a place that I love, with a partner who is a good friend, and spending the last dozen years with Vin [Scully], there isn't a day that goes by where I don't pinch myself."
