Verrett returned to Mets from Rangers
Right-hander Logan Verrett was returned to the Mets from the Rangers on Monday after he was designated for assignment on April 24 and cleared waivers.
The Mets have outrighted Verrett, 24, to Triple-A Las Vegas. He was selected by the Orioles in the Rule 5 Draft in December, then was claimed by the Rangers on April 2.
Verrett was 0-1 with a 6.00 ERA (six earned runs in nine innings) in four games of relief for the Rangers this year. He made his Major League debut on April 8 in Oakland with 2 2/3 innings.
With Las Vegas last year, Verrett went 11-5 with a 4.33 ERA in 28 starts.
