Roberto Alomar to host four Home Run Challenges across Canada in support of Jays Care foundation

            This summer Hall of Famer Roberto Alomar will be hosting Roberto Alomar & Friends Charity Home Run Challenges in Toronto, ON (May 8), Vancouver, BC (July 6), Moncton, NB (July 30) and Okotoks, AB (August 10) in support of JAYS CARE FOUNDATION, the charitable arm of the TORONTO BLUE JAYS. Participating teams and individuals will fundraise before the event to support Jays Care Foundation's programs and initiatives throughout Canada.

            The funds raised will allow Jays Care Foundation to support the Blue Jays Baseball Academy Rookie League program in Toronto, the refurbishment of the "Teen Room" at the Boys and Girls Club of South Coast in Vancouver, the Salisbury & District Recreational Council's improvements to multiple baseball diamonds in Moncton and in Alberta the Town of High River enhancements of three baseball fields that will allow for 110 children and youth to play baseball this summer.

            "I am very excited to help Jays Care Foundation grow this program in Canada," said Blue Jays Alumni Roberto Alomar, "I love the work that Jays Care does, and I'm happy to get out on the field and help people hit some home runs for a good cause."

            Participants will receive their own personalized uniform, including a Blue Jays jersey and equipment to participate in alumni led hitting drills to prepare for their turn at bat. Joining Roberto Alomar will be Toronto Blue Jays alumni instructors JESSE BARFIELD, LLOYD MOSEBY and other Blue Jays alumni who will attend to provide pointers and cheer hitters on. Each participant will have 10 at bats to clear the fences and make their way through the hitting rounds.

"The expansion of this popular program will not only help grow the game of baseball across Canada, but will assist Jays Care Foundation in leaving Blue Jays legacy programs from coast to coast."
