Rockies open 2017 season against familiar foe

September 15th, 2016

PHOENIX -- The Rockies' 2017 schedule begins April 3 with the start of a four-game set at Milwaukee -- where they'll open for the fourth time in seven seasons. The club also has decided to begin their Sunday day games an hour earlier than they did this season.
The Rockies will face the Dodgers April 7 in the home opener at 2:10 p.m., but after that all home day games will begin at 1:10 p.m. In recent seasons, the Rockies have started home day games at 2:10.
The current schedule lists times for all but a few home games. Contests against the Cardinals May 27 and 28, against the Rays May 29 and 30, against the Giants June 17, and against the White Sox on July 8 will be determined.
2017 schedule
The slate offers a couple of early stress points. The Rockies are scheduled for games on 14 straight days before they are off on April 20, and there is a 10-game road trip to Minnesota (three games) Cincinnati (three) and Philadelphia (four) May 16-25. The big road trip comes after 10 straight at home May 5-14, against the D-backs (three), Cubs (three) and Dodgers (four).
