DENVER -- Rockies outfielder , who is out with a stress reaction in his sixth rib, has increased his activity to throwing, running and weight training, but swinging the bat will not be allowed until after his next bone scan.
Manager Bud Black reported the increase in activity Tuesday, but the club has yet to schedule the scan. The issue right now is movements of muscles in the scapular plane, which can irritate the injury and possibly slow healing, so the club is being cautious.
However, Dahl will be with the club in San Francisco for a series starting Thursday.
Dahl, 23, hit .315 with seven home runs and 24 RBIs last season after being called up on July 25. He and , whose ankle injury and struggles last season led to Dahl's promotion, were poised to compete for starts in left field this year. However, Dahl was sidelined after four Spring Training at-bats, and Parra has had a strong start to the regular season

• Bullpen coach Darren Holmes said reports were positive from righty 's first injury rehab appearance -- one inning pitched, one hit and one strikeout -- for Class A Advanced Lancaster on Monday. He threw nine pitches, seven for strikes.
Holmes said Diaz, who is coming back from Tommy John surgery, will likely have two days off before his next outing. Diaz will have to build up to back-to-back performances, and recover from them, before the Rockies consider activating him.
