SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Rockies outfielder David Dahl will be sidelined for the next few days with back soreness, manager Bud Black said on Tuesday.
Dahl, who is competing with Gerardo Parra for the starting job in left field, was scratched from the lineup on Monday and declined to talk with reporters on Tuesday morning.
"I don't think it's too big of a deal, but you probably won't see him for the next few days," Black said. "It's been ongoing. I don't think it was a one-time event. It was a gradual sort of soreness. He'll be fine."
Dahl, 22, hit .315 with seven home runs and 24 RBIs in 63 games with the Rockies last season.

Parra finished with career lows in batting average (.253) and on-base percentage (.271) after signing a three-year, $27.5 million free-agent contract before last season.
"We're going to be cautious," Black said of Dahl. "When he's ready, he's ready."
