ST. LOUIS -- A season of power and clutch hitting at two Minor League levels has helped Rockies middle infield prospect Brendan Rodgers rise six spots to No. 9 in the midseason rankings of MLBPipeline.com's Top 100 Prospects list.
Rodgers, 20, the Rockies' first-round Draft pick in 2015 out of Lake Mary (Fla.) High School, began the season by hitting .400 with 12 home runs and 46 RBIs in 49 games at Class A Advanced Lancaster.
In his first 26 games at Double-A Hartford, Rodgers hit .245 with five home runs, 10 RBIs and three doubles.

Other Rockies among the Top 100 are Class A Asheville right-hander Riley Pint (No. 66) and Triple-A Albuquerque corner infielder and second baseman Ryan McMahon (No. 67).
Pint, 19, the team's top pick in 2016 out of St. Thomas Aquinas High in Overland Park, Kan., is 2-9 with a 4.24 ERA with 58 strikeouts against 42 walks in his first full year of pro ball. McMahon, 22, has hit .350 with 15 home runs and 69 RBIs in 94 games combined at Hartford and Triple-A Albuquerque.
The ranking of baseball's top prospects is done by MLBPipeline.com Draft and prospect experts Jonathan Mayo, Jim Callis and Mike Rosenbaum, who compile input from industry sources, including scouts and scouting directors. It is based on analysis of players' skill sets, upsides, proximity to the Majors and potential immediate impact to their teams. Only players with rookie status are eligible for the list. Players who were at least 23 years old when they signed and played in leagues deemed to be professional (Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Cuba) are not eligible.
Three on the Top 100 may seem light for a Rockies team that has been considered to have among the best farm systems in the Majors in recent years, but that's because several players considered prospects before the season have graduated to the big league club.
Three preseason Top 100 prospects have graduated from the list -- right-handed starting pitchers Jeff Hoffman (No. 57 preseason) and German Marquez (No. 74), and outfielder Raimel Tapia (No. 90). Hoffman and Marquez are members of the starting rotation, while Tapia spent significant time in the Majors before being returned to Albuquerque.
Righty Antonio Senzatela and lefty Kyle Freeland, who have been key pieces in the Rockies' rotation this season, also graduated from the Rockies' prospect rankings..
