Rockies Minor League player Torres suspended

The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced today that Colorado Rockies Minor League left-handed pitcher Joseph Torres has received a 50-game suspension after testing positive for an amphetamine, a performance-enhancing substance, in violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.

The suspension of Torres, who is currently on the roster of the Triple-A Colorado Springs Sky Sox, will be effective at the start of this season.
