Rockies place LHP Drew Pomeranz on 15-day disabled list

Club Recalls OF Corey Dickerson from Triple-A Colorado Springs

DENVER - The Colorado Rockies announced today that they have placed left-handed pitcher Drew Pomeranz on the 15-day disabled list with left bicep tendinitis (retroactive to July 23). In addition, the club have recalled outfielder Corey Dickerson from Triple-A Colorado Springs. Dickerson (#6) will be available for tonight's game against the Milwaukee Brewers (6:40 p.m. MDT) at Coors Field.

Pomeranz, 24, had made four starts over two stints with the Rockies after beginning the year at Triple-A Colorado Springs. He went 0-4 over 16.2 innings, while allowing 15 runs on 24 hits in four games with the Rockies. In his most recent stint with Colorado, he made two starts and allowed 6 runs over 8.1 innings. The Ole Miss product has made 30 career Major League starts and has gone 4-14 with a 5.40 ERA (131.2 ip, 79 er).

Dickerson, 24, will be making his second stint with the Rockies. In 15 games with the Rockies before being optioned on July 11, he went 7-for-33 (.212) with 4 doubles, 2 RBI and 5 runs while appearing in all three outfield positions. He made his Major League debut on June 22 at Washington and went 2-for-4 with 2 doubles and a RBI. Dickerson has batted .371 (117-for-315) with 21 doubles, 14 triples, 11 home runs, 50 RBI and 61 runs at Triple-A Colorado Springs. He currently leads the Pacific Coast League in average, triples, slugging percentage (.632) and OPS (1.046) and is fourth in on-base percentage (.414).

The Rockies currently have a full 40-man roster.
