Rockies recall right-hander Carlos Estevez from Triple-A Albuquerque

The Colorado Rockies announced today that they have recalled right-handed pitcher Carlos Estevez from Triple-A Albuquerque and placed right-hander Scott Oberg on the 15-day disabled list with axillary artery thrombosis in his right arm (retroactive to Aug. 20).

The Colorado Rockies announced today that they have recalled right-handed pitcher Carlos Estevez from Triple-A Albuquerque and placed right-hander Scott Oberg on the 15-day disabled list with axillary artery thrombosis in his right arm (retroactive to Aug. 20).
• Estevez, 23, will be making his second stint on the active roster in his first season with the Rockies … was recalled from Triple-A on April 22 and made his Major League debut the following day against Los Angeles-NL (2.0 IP, BB, SO) … went 2-7 with 11 saves (ranks second among ML rookies) and a 5.28 ERA (44.1 IP, 26 ER) with 38 hits, 21 walks and 50 strikeouts in his 49 appearances with the Rockies prior to being optioned to Triple-A on Aug. 19 … did not appear for Albuquerque in his most recent stint … in five Triple-A appearances in April, went 1-0 with a 3.18 ERA (5.2 IP, 2 ER), six hits, three walks and four strikeouts … was originally signed by the Rockies as an international free agent on May 31, 2011.
• Oberg, 26, has made three stints with the Rockies this season … this is his first disabled list placement in his Major League career … is 1-1 with one save over his 24 appearances with the Rockies this season with a 5.19 ERA (26.0 IP, 15 ER), 26 hits, 11 walks and 20 strikeouts … made 64 appearances in his rookie season with the Rockies in 2015, going 3-4 with one save and a 5.09 ERA (58.1 IP, 33 ER) … was originally selected by the Rockies in the 15th round of the 2012 First-Year Player Draft out of the University of Connecticut.
