Rockies reinstate pitcher Boone Logan from the 15-day disabled list

The Colorado Rockies announced today that they have reinstated left-handed pitcher Boone Logan from the 15-day disabled list (left shoulder inflammation) and optioned right-hander Miguel Castro to Triple-A Albuquerque.

LOS ANGELES - The Colorado Rockies announced today that they have reinstated left-handed pitcher Boone Logan from the 15-day disabled list (left shoulder inflammation) and optioned right-hander Miguel Castro to Triple-A Albuquerque.

  • Logan, 31, was placed on the disabled list May 25, retroactive to May 18, due to left shoulder inflammation … the San Antonio, Texas, native has allowed nine hits and three earned runs over 14.0 innings this season, making 18 appearances … he currently has a scoreless-inning streak of 10.2 innings, the fifth-longest active streak in the National League … made one rehab appearance, pitching one scoreless inning Saturday for Albuquerque at Sacramento, throwing 14 pitches and striking out one batter … since making his Major League debut in 2006, Logan is 26-18 with a 4.45 ERA (378.0 IP, 187 ER) in 533 relief appearances with 165 walks and 397 strikeouts … he has pitched for the Chicago White Sox (2006-08), Atlanta Braves (2009), New York Yankees (2010-13) and Rockies (2014-16) … in 113 games with the Rockies, Logan is 2-6 with a 4.72 ERA (74.1 IP, 39 ER), 33 walks and 93 strikeouts.
  • Castro, 21, has allowed 10 hits and five runs in 13 appearances for the Rockies this season, walking three and striking out 10 … he is 0-1 in two appearances with Triple-A Albuquerque, allowing four hits and three runs over two innings pitched … Castro was acquired from the Toronto Blue Jays on July 28, 2015 along with right-handed pitchers Jeff Hoffman and Jesus Tinoco and infielder Jose Reyes in exchange for right-handed pitcher LaTroy Hawkins and shortstop Troy Tulowitzki.

The Rockies currently have a full 40-man roster.
