Rockies Spring Training truck departs Coors Field

The departure of the Colorado Rockies equipment truck for Salt River Fields at Talking Stick, the club's Spring Training home in Scottsdale, Ariz., is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 6. The truck will begin being loaded starting at 8 a.m. and is scheduled to leave Coors Field for the 930-mile trip around 11 a.m.

The equipment truck, driven by Jason Johnson of Graebel Van Lines, the official moving company of the Rockies, will move approximately 40,000 pounds of equipment down to Arizona. Some items that will be transported on the truck or that have already been delivered will be:

  • 800 dozen baseballs
  • 200 bats (60 individual player specific orders)
  • 150 batting helmets
  • 200 Batting Practice tops
  • 600 pairs of pants
  • 350 shirts
  • 400 baseball caps (Spring Training, road, St. Patrick's Day)
  • 560 pairs of socks
  • 120 equipment/player bags
  • 11 cases of bubble gum
  • 80 cases of sunflower seeds
  • 6 pallets of Powerade

Also travelling on the team truck will be player and staff personal items such as cribs, bicycles, family bins, scooters, golf clubs and clothes.
