Rockies TV home, ROOT, nominated for 11 Emmys

DENVER -- The National Television Academy, Heartland Chapter, announced today that ROOT Sports has been nominated for 11 Regional Emmy Awards for the second consecutive year.

The regional sports network -- formerly FSN Rocky Mountain -- received nominations in the "Sports - Program Series", "Sports - One-Time Special", and "Sporting Event/Game - Live/Unedited", along with "Magazine Program/Weather Program", "Sports Editor", "Short Form Editor", "Graphics Arts - Program", and "Writer - Program" categories.

ROOT, owned and operated by DIRECTV, is the cable home to the Rockies for 2.6 million viewers.

The Heartland chapter includes stations from the greater parts of Colorado, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska and Wyoming.

Winners will be announced July 21 at the Seawell Grand Ballroom in Denver.
