Rookie Devon Travis named Honda Player of the Month
TORONTO BLUE JAYS rookie second baseman DEVON TRAVIS has captured the HONDA PLAYER OF THE MONTH AWARD for April in a unanimous vote by the TORONTO CHAPTER of the BBWAA. Honda, the official vehicle of the Blue Jays, will make a donation to the charity Devon's choosing.
TRAVIS, 24, batted .325 in April and led the Blue Jays with six home runs, 19 RBI, 12 extra base hits, a .393 on-base percentage and a .625 slugging percentage. Travis led all rookies in Major League Baseball in batting average, hits (26), HR, extra base hits, total bases, on-base percentage and slugging percentage.
Third baseman Josh Donaldson (.319, 6-2B, 5HR, 16RBI) was second in the voting and outfielder Kevin Pillar was third (.273, 8-2B, HR, 11RBI).
