Gordon set to begin rehab assignment

June 18th, 2016

Alex Gordon is taking the next step toward returning from the scaphoid bone fracture in his right wrist that has sidelined him since a scary foul-territory collision with Mike Moustakas on May 22.
The Royals' left fielder will begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Northwest Arkansas on Sunday, the team announced on Saturday. There is not yet a timetable for the length of Gordon's rehab assignment.
Gordon, an All-Star in each of the past three seasons, was batting .211 with four home runs in 42 games at the time of his injury. The collision also knocked Moustakas out for the year with a torn ACL.
