Royals and Oklahoma City Thunder Partner for Special Night

The Kansas City Royals have partnered with the NBA Oklahoma City Thunder, to host Thunder Night at The K on Saturday, July 23.

The Kansas City Royals have partnered with the NBA Oklahoma City Thunder, to host Thunder Night at The K on Saturday, July 23. The theme night will incorporate the Thunder experience into a night of big-league action, as the Royals host the Texas Rangers at 6:15 p.m.
"The Royals look forward to hosting The Oklahoma City Thunder at Kauffman Stadium," said Mike Bucek, Vice President of Marketing and Promotions. "Since both franchises have a strong appeal across the region, partnering is a natural fit and offers our fans an opportunity to experience the Thunder's game entertainment." 
Thunder forward and former University of Kansas basketball star Nick Collison is scheduled to throw out the ceremonial first pitch.
Rumble the Bison, the Thunder Girls, Thunder Drummers and Storm Chasers will also take part in the theme night, connecting with fans throughout the ballpark. The OG&E ThunderBolt, the team's traveling interactive experience, will be set up to allow fans to engage with the Thunder through measure-ups, a photo booth, trivia and more.

Fans can purchase Theme Tickets for Thunder Night at www.royals.com/thunder. Fans who purchase the Oklahoma City Thunder Theme Ticket and bring it to Gate A will receive an exclusive Royals baseball cap that includes the Thunder logo and colors. Gates open at 4:45 p.m. with first pitch scheduled for 6:15 p.m.
