Royals, Cardinals partner to rock Final Vote
Fans can send Moustakas, Martinez to All-Star Game for AL, NL respectively
KANSAS CITY -- The Royals and Cardinals announced on Wednesday that they have united to urge fans of both teams to vote for Royals third baseman Mike Moustakas and Cardinals pitcher Carlos Martinez in the 2015 Esurance MLB All-Star Game Final Vote to earn spots in Tuesday's All-Star Game presented by T-Mobile.
Other alliances include: Tigers/Reds, Yankees/Rockies, Dodgers/Red Sox and Twins/Mets.
"With outstanding seasons so far by both the Cardinals and Royals, Missouri is home to the top team in each league," Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon said in a press release. "It's time for fans of both teams to cast that Final Vote for both Mike Moustakas and Carlos Martinez so there is as much Royals blue and Cardinals red on the field next week in Cincinnati as possible."
Moustakas leads the American League Final Vote with 11.8 million votes as of Thursday's update, just ahead of Brian Dozier of the Twins and Yoenis Cespedes of the Tigers. In the National League, Martinez jumped to second behind Johnny Cueto of the Reds but ahead of Troy Tulowitzki of the Rockies, Clayton Kershaw of the Dodgers and Jeurys Familia of the Mets.
Voting is open now at MLB.com to select the final player for each League's 34-man roster via the 2015 Esurance MLB All-Star Game Final Vote. Fans can cast their votes from a list of five players from each League until 3 p.m. CT on Friday.
During the All-Star Game presented by T-Mobile in Cincinnati on Tuesday, fans can once again visit MLB.com to submit their choice for the Ted Williams Most Valuable Player Award presented by Chevrolet. Voting exclusively at MLB.com, online and via their mobile devices in the 2015 All-Star Game MVP Vote presented by Chevrolet, the fans' collective voice will represent 20 percent of the overall vote that determines the recipient of the Arch Ward Trophy.
MLB.TV Premium subscribers will be able to live stream the All-Star Game via MLB.TV through FOX's participating video providers. Access will be available across more than 400 supported MLB.TV platforms, including the award-winning MLB.com At Bat app. MLB.com will provide extensive online coverage of the All-Star Week festivities, including the 2015 Gillette Home Run Derby presented by Head & Shoulders, part of Gatorade All-Star Workout Day on Monday. The Derby will feature a new format with brackets and timed rounds and will be broadcast live by ESPN and MLB.com beginning at 7 p.m. CT.
The 86th Midsummer Classic will be televised nationally by FOX Sports (coverage begins at 6 p.m. CT), in Canada by Rogers Sportsnet and RDS, and worldwide by partners in more than 160 countries.
