Royals Charities celebrates record-setting attendance and proceeds for Diamond of Dreams

Annual on-field fundraiser featured current and former Royals players and the hit band 'American Authors'

KANSAS CITY, MO - Royals Charities announced today that Diamond of Dreams, presented by Bank of Kansas City, broke records in attendance and proceeds for charity.

More than 1,500 people attended the foundation's signature event last night, which featured the Tiffany & Co. VIP Party and on-field event, appearances from current and former Royals and a performance by Island Records recording artists American Authors. Kelly Urich, morning show host on 99.7 The Point, emceed the evening with co-host Nycki Pace.

Proceeds from ticket sales, the Teva Silent Auction, a Rolex watch raffle courtesy of TIVOL and an exclusive Tiffany & Co. experience, "Keys for a Cause," raised more than $265,000 to fund Royals Charities grants to local nonprofits.

Several local restaurants lined the outfield warning track: 12 Baltimore, Aramark, Barrel 31, Blanc Burgers + Bottles, Cleaver & Cork, Cupcake A La Mode, Fiorella's Jack Stack Barbecue, JJ's Restaurant, La Bodega, McCormick & Schmick's, Ophelia's, The Kansas City Steak Co. and Zocalo.

The evening ended with a spectacular fireworks show.
