KANSAS CITY, MO (December 6, 2012) – The Kansas City Royals and Royals Charities will welcome 80 area children to the fourth annual Royals Charities Kids Holiday Party, set for Tuesday, December 11 at Kauffman Stadium.  The club will host children from four area organizations – Della Lamb, El Centro, Inc., Niles Home and Operation Breakthrough – during the party, which is scheduled for 4-6 p.m. in the Diamond Club.  Royals pitcher Danny Duffy is scheduled to take part in the event.

In addition to listening to Duffy read “The Night Before Christmas,” the children will have the opportunity to make ornaments and decorate holiday cards.  Each child will also receive a gift from Santa Claus purchased by Royals associates and leave with a stocking full of goodies.

The holiday party is a private event for the select children from the four charitable organizations.  Media members wishing to cover the event should enter Kauffman Stadium at Home Plate Gate C.

In addition, the Royals will once again support the Topeka (Kan.) Police Department’s Cops and Kids event on Saturday, December 8.  Police officers will be paired with children from Big Brothers Big Sisters of Topeka to help them with their holiday shopping beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the WalMart located at 1501 SW Wanamaker Road in Topeka.  Sluggerrr will make a special appearance to visit the children at the store from 8:30-9:30 a.m.  The cops will then assist members of TARC in their shopping efforts beginning at 10 a.m. at the WalMart located at 2600 NW Rochester Road in Topeka.
