Royals Charities to visit Operation Breakthrough

Visit is first stop for Royals Charities Giving Week

As a part of the first-ever Giving Week, Royals Charities will visit Operation Breakthrough to present a $25,000 check to the organization and pass out Rally Towels to the children. Members of the Kansas City Royals Alumni Association will also be attending and making a donation.

The visit will start at 11:30 a.m. at 3039 Troost Ave., Kansas City, Mo., 64109. Royals alumni that will be taking part include Willie Aikens, Al Fitzmorris, Dennis Leonard, Paul McGannon and Rod Myers. Royals Broadcaster Rex Hudler and Royals mascot Sluggerrr will also be appearing. 

Operation Breakthrough is the largest single-site early education child care and social services facility in the state of Missouri serving over 400 children daily from the urban core. The mission of Operation Breakthrough is to help children who are living in poverty develop to their fullest potential by providing them a safe, loving and educational environment. The organization also strives to support and empower the children's families through advocacy, referral services and emergency aid.

Royals Charities will be traveling all over the Greater Kansas City area throughout the week, presenting grants to various organizations.
