Holland on target, feels good after sim game
Closer expects to be ready by Tuesday when eligible to come off DL
KANSAS CITY -- Royals closer Greg Holland threw a simulated game Saturday and reported all went well.
Holland, on the disabled list because of a pectoral strain, said his command was good.
"It felt really good," Holland said. "I was able to make all of my pitches. I didn't execute everything, but I never do."
Holland also reported all the discomfort from the injury had vanished.
Royals manager Ned Yost is hoping Holland will be ready by Tuesday, when he is eligible to come off the disabled list.
"We'll have to wait and see if any issues come up tomorrow after this," Holland said. "But I'm pretty confident I'll be ready."
