Royals-Cubs clash postponed due to rain

CHICAGO -- The middle game of the Royals-Cubs series scheduled for Saturday night was washed out by rain at Wrigley Field.

The game will be made up on Sept. 28, a mutual off-day before the Royals begin their final road trip of the regular season, which starts with three games against the White Sox, Sept. 29-30 and Oct. 1.

Royals manager Ned Yost said Yordano Ventura, who was scheduled to pitch on Saturday, will make the start on Sunday.

"We'll stay in the rotation, just push everyone back a day," Yost said.

That means right-hander Jeremy Guthrie will make the start on Tuesday in the series opener against the Indians at Kauffman Stadium.
