Players from the World Series Champion Kansas City Royals will appear in the community throughout the week. Today several players, coaches, broadcasters and Royals alumni appeared at a breakfast for what became a rain-cancelled Royals Charities Golf Tournament. This Saturday, Eric Hosmer and Danny Duffy will make appearances at the Noah's Bandage Project 5K, and Alex Gordon will stop by the second annual Alex Gordon Classic. Monday, April 18 -- Off Day 
· Royals Charities Celebrity Golf Tournament Rained Out -- Royals Charities was set to host the ninth annual Royals Charities Celebrity Golf Tournament featuring current and former Royals at the Shadow Glen Golf Club in Olathe, Kan. The event was cancelled, and no makeup date will be scheduled. Still, all proceeds benefit Special Olympics KC Metro. Sprint, DEMDACO and other sponsors supported the planned tournament.
· Kansas City Sports Commission Dinner -- The Kansas City Sports Commission and Foundation will honor individuals for their commitment and achievements in local sports at their annual awards banquet. Manager Ned Yost will be honored as the Burns & McDonnell Coach of the Year. 
Tuesday, April 19 -- Detroit Tigers vs. Royals, 6:15 p.m.
· 2016 MLB-Royals All-Star Scholars Announcement -- The 2016 Royals Scholars will be announced during the 20/20 Leadership's Shining Star Awards Celebration at the Kauffman Foundation Conference Center. The event will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with the scholarships announced toward the end of the program. Each student receives up to a $10,000 scholarship at any two- or four-year college or university in Missouri or Kansas. These five students were selected from the 20/20 Leadership program, which serves to educate and expose students to community issues, develop personal and leadership skills and build community-wide relationships. Proceeds from the 2012 All-Star Game in Kansas City fund the program.
Wednesday, April 20 -- Detroit Tigers vs. Royals, 6:15 p.m.
· Dream Factory -- Throughout the season, the Royals grant the wishes of Dream Factory children. These youngsters, who face life-altering challenges, will meet Royals players, watch batting practice from the dugout and enjoy the game and refreshments. Their Royals experience appears on the KMBC-TV (Channel 9) 10 p.m. newscast. 
Thursday, April 21 -- Detroit Tigers vs. Royals, 6:15 p.m.
· "C" You at The K -- Royals General Manager Dayton Moore, together with the C You in the Major Leagues Foundation (CYITML) and the Royals, will host area groups to join him at select games this season. The special guests will watch batting practice, enjoy dinner with Moore and watch the Royals game. The CYITML Foundation was founded in January 2014 to support youth baseball, education, faith-based organizations and events, and families in crisis throughout the greater Kansas City area and beyond. 
Friday, April 22 -- Baltimore Orioles vs. Royals, 7:15 p.m. 
· Earth Day Green Team -- During select games throughout the season, local organizations and volunteers who sign-up to be a part of the Royals Green Team, sponsored by Republic Services, will help collect aluminum and recyclable plastics at the stadium gates as well as throughout multiple innings of the game.
· 50/50 Raffle presented by Edelman & Thompson -- A portion of the proceeds from the nightly Royals Charities fundraiser will benefit the Children's Emergency Fund. www.royals.com/5050. 
Saturday, April 23 -- Baltimore Orioles vs. Royals, 6:15 p.m.
· Royals Players to Appear at Noah's Bandage Project 5K -- Gold Glove first baseman Eric Hosmer and pitcher Danny Duffy will appear at the first-ever Noah's Bandage Project 5K. Hosmer will welcome runners to the race, which has a gun start set for 7:30 a.m. Duffy will then assist with the awards ceremony around 8:45 a.m. Sign-ups for the race and more information can be found at www.royals.com/community. 
· Alex Gordon to Appear at Youth Tournament -- The second annual Alex Gordon Classic to benefit the Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation will take place April 22-24, and the left fielder will make an appearance on Saturday. Starting at 11 a.m., Gordon will speak to the 120 teams from across the Midwest who participate in the tournament, then meet the top four teams who raised the most money for the foundation leading up to the event. Later that night, the top two fundraising teams will watch Royals batting practice and will be on-field before the game with Papa John's, who will present a check from the proceeds from the 2015 Alex Gordon Double Deal. 
· Autism Awareness Day -- Major League Baseball and the Royals partner with Autism Speaks to help raise awareness and create a special day featuring a fun, safe and family-friendly environment for fans who are a part of the Autism Speaks family. Specific sections in the Fountain Seats and Hy-Vee View seats are reserved for this event and may be purchased at www.royals.com/autismspeaks. 
Sunday, April 24 -- Baltimore Orioles vs. Royals, 1:15 p.m.
