Omaha staged a ninth-inning rally before leaving the tying run at first base. Brett Eibner hit a two-run homer, bringing the Storm Chasers to within a run. He's tied for second in the league with four homers and tied for fourth in RBI at 14. Whit Merrifield posted two singles, two runs and a stolen base. Aaron Brooks (5.1 IP, 7 H, 3 ER, 2 BB, 5 SO, 2 HR) took the loss.

Miguel Almonte, Daniel Stumpf and Reid Redman combined on a two-hit shutout of Frisco. KC's fifth-ranked prospect according to MLB.com, Almonte fanned five while allowing a lone hit over 4.0 innings. Stumpf (3.0 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 4 SO) picked up the win and Redman (2.0 IP, 0 H, 1 BB, 3 SO) notched his first save of 2015. Ninth-ranked prospect Jorge Bonifacio accounted for all of the scoring with a two-run double in the third. He added a double in the fifth.

Wilmington Blue Rocks (6-5)

Potomac 3, Wilmington 1

Wilmington was held to one run in an opening loss vs. the Nationals. Potomac plated a run in the second and two in the third off of Jake Junis (6.0 IP, 5 H, 3 ER, 0 BB, 1 SO, 1 HR). 13th-ranked prospect Bubba Starling posted two hits, a walk and the lone RBI for Wilmington. He is now first in the Carolina League with a .385 average (15-for-39). Ramon Torres had three singles, boosting his average to .341 (14-for-41).

LP: Torey Deshazier (1-1)
HR: Alfredo Escalera (1, 2)

Lexington lost a heartbreaker as Mauricio Dubon hit a tying homer in the ninth and Michael Chavis delivered a go-ahead blast in the 10th. Alfredo Escalera went deep twice, resulting in all three Lexington runs.
