Omaha Storm Chasers (10-9)

The Storm Chasers had Wednesday off. They begin a road trip tonight at New Orleans (Marlins).

NW Arkansas Naturals (6-13)

Northwest Arkansas 6, Springfield 5

SV: Andrew Triggs (1) HR: Whit Merrifield (2)

The Naturals won a second straight, using a four-run fifth to build a 6-1 lead. Whit Merrifield hit a two-run homer in the inning. Jared Schlehuber added two hits and two RBIs. 2012 second-round pick and number 13 prospect Sam Selman earned his first Double-A win, fanning four while holding Springfield to a run on two hits and two walks over 5.0 innings.

Wilmington Blue Rocks (8-11)

Wilmington 4, Carolina 3
WP: Yender Caramo (1-2)
SV: Mark Peterson (3)
HR: Raul Mondesi (1)

Wilmington opened with a one-run win over the Mudcats. Raul Mondesi, KC's number three prospect, was 3-for-4 with three runs and a solo homer, which put Wilmington ahead to stay at 3-2. 2013 first-round pick Hunter Dozier added three hits and two RBI. Dozier is ranked seventh among KC prospects by MLB.com. Yender Caramo struck out three while scattering two runs, seven hits and a walk over 6.0 innings.

Lexington Legends (10-10)

HR: Elier Hernandez (1)

A three-run homer by Elier Hernandez broke a 2-2 tie as Lexington won the rubber game at Hickory. Hernandez, ranked 11th among Royals prospects by MLB.com, was 3-for-4 with four RBI. Luis Santos struck out five while holding the Crawdads to two runs over 7.0 innings. He has a 1.69 ERA through 21.1 innings (5 R, 4 ER).
