The Storm Chasers rallied from a 12-3 deficit before falling short at New Orleans. Johnny Giavotella had a big night in front of his hometown fans, hitting a three-run homer and finishing a triple shy of the cycle. Francisco Pena added his team-leading fourth home run. Christian Colon recorded two hits, two walks, two runs and a stolen base. He is ranked 16th among Royals prospects by MLB.com. Casey Coleman stranded three inherited runners on his way to 2.1 scoreless innings.

NW Arkansas Naturals (6-14)

The Naturals settled for a 2-2 series split. Springfield scored three in the second and five in the eighth. Andy Ferguson posted a quality start, striking out seven while allowing three runs, five hits and a walk over 6.0 innings. Edinson Rincon led Northwest Arkansas with two hits. Jorge Bonifacio and Juan Graterol each drove in a run. Bonifacio is tied for fourth in the Texas League with 13 RBI. He is ranked fourth among Royals prospects by MLB.com.

Wilmington Blue Rocks (8-12)

Wilmington was limited to six hits in a shutout loss at home. Zane Evans recorded two hits, including a double. The catcher, ranked 17th among Royals prospects, is batting .396 in 13 games (19-for-48). Jonathan Dziedzic pitched well in defeat, striking out eight while holding Carolina to two runs (one earned) on four hits and two walks over 6.0 innings. KC's 13th round pick in 2013, Dziedzic's 1.64 ERA ranks fourth among Carolina League hurlers (4 ER in 22.0 IP).

Lexington Legends (10-11)

The Legends lost game one in Greenville. Luke Farrell took the loss against his father's organization, striking out five while allowing four runs over 4.0 innings. Bo Greenwell, son of former Boston star Mike Greenwell, was 4-for-5 with two homers and four RBI for the Drive. Carlos Garcia recorded a two-run triple for Lexington.
