Omaha Storm Chasers (64-58)

Omaha scored three in the ninth to take a 7-6 lead before losing on Matt McBride's two-run shot in the home half. Pedro Ciriaco was 4-for-5 with two doubles and a run. Cheslor Cuthbert doubled home the three runs in the ninth. He's batting .385 (10-for-26) with six RBI in six games at Omaha and is ranked 15th among Royals prospects by MLB.com. Justin Maxwell added two hits, an RBI and a run. The Storm Chasers begin an eight-game homestand tonight against Salt Lake (Angels).

NW Arkansas Naturals (24-24 second half, 49-70 overall)

The Naturals had an open date on Monday. They play at Corpus Christi (Astros) tonight.

Wilmington Blue Rocks (22-25 second half, 55-60 overall)

The Blue Rocks had Monday off after winning two of three at Frederick. The series shifts to Wilmington tonight.

Lexington Legends (19-32 second half, 48-73 overall)

The Legends were blanked in game one at Kannapolis. The Intimidators scored three in the second and seven in the third. Kevin Kuntz had two hits and is batting .314 (11-for-35) since joining Lexington. Pedro Fernandez worked 5.2 innings in relief, striking out three while allowing three runs (two earned).

Idaho Falls Chukars (7-7 second half, 27-25 overall)

Idaho Falls opens a series at Helena (Brewers) tonight after an off day. Sugar Ray Marimon is scheduled to make a rehab start.

The Royals snapped a six-game losing streak behind a strong start from Niklas Stephenson (6.0 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 8 SO). Carlos Herrera struck out four over 2.0 IP and Estarlin Cordero fanned two in the ninth. D.J. Burt had two hits and an RBI.
