Royals Minor League report: July 15

Omaha Storm Chasers (44-53)

The Storm Chasers are off until Thursday, when they visit Albuquerque (Dodgers). Pitcher Chris Dwyer will participate in Wednesday's Triple-A All-Star Game in Reno.

NW Arkansas Naturals (12-12 2nd half, 37-57 overall)

Northwest Arkansas slugged three solo home runs in a 3-2 win over Tulsa. Rey Navarro tied the game at 1-1 in the second. Brett Eibner put Northwest Arkansas ahead with his fourth homer in three days. Matt Fields provided a needed insurance run with his league-leading 24th roundtripper in the seventh. Andy Ferguson held the Drillers to a run on five hits and a walk over 7.0 innings. Kelvin Herrera struck out three and allowed a hit in a scoreless eighth.

Wilmington Blue Rocks (14-10 2nd half, 47-47 overall)

Lynchburg 8, Wilmington 1

The Blue Rocks settled for a 2-2 split vs. Lynchburg. The Hillcats built an 8-0 lead, including four runs in the fourth. John Lamb allowed five runs (four earned), seven hits and a walk over 3.0 innings plus three batters. Jared Schlehuber posted three of the five Wilmington hits, finishing with two doubles, a walk and a home run in the ninth. The entire Carolina League is off today, with Wilmington starting a series at Myrtle Beach (Rangers) on Wednesday.

Lexington Legends (14-9 2nd half, 47-44 overall)

Mark Donato's sixth-inning single scored Yowill Espinal as Lexington finished 3-1 vs. Delmarva. Matt Murray pitched 4.2 innings, holding the Shorebirds to a hit and three walks. Aroni Nina (2.1 IP, 1 H), Chas Byrne (1.0 IP) and Mark Peterson (1.0 IP, 1 H) completed the shutout. The Legends begin a seven-game road trip at Rome (Braves) on Wednesday.

Idaho Falls Chukars (11-14)

Idaho Falls completed a three-game sweep at Missoula, the club's fifth straight win overall. Patrick Conroy pitched 8.0 strong innings, holding the Osprey to a run on six hits and walk while striking out nine. Elier Hernandez was 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs. The Chukars are off today before hosting Helena and Missoula.

Burlington lost a pair of seven-innings games that were played at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina. Kingsport scored three runs in the second inning of game one. Ramon Torres recorded two of Burlington's four hits against Chris Flexen, who tossed a complete game shutout. The Mets scored seven times over the last two innings of game two. Burlington starter Kevin McCarthy held Kingsport scoreless on eight hits over 5.0 innings. Torres drove in the lone Royals run with a single in the third.

Surprise Royals (7-14)

HR: None

Surprise lost Monday's contest against their complex counterparts. Lee's Summit North graduate Brandon Dulin was 3-for-4 with a triple and an RBI. The clubs will play again on Wednesday.
