Omaha and Iowa met for the first time in 2015, with the Cubs taking round one. Francisco Pena hit a two-run homer in the fifth, then doubled and scored Omaha's final run in the seventh. He has 11 extra-base hits over his last 13 games. Clayton Mortensen allowed four runs, seven hits and a walk with three strikeouts over 4.0 innings. Buddy Baumann posted 3.0 shutout innings, recording a season-best seven strikeouts.

A pair of seven-inning games were scheduled for today, beginning at 11:05 a.m. In other news, eight Naturals have been named Texas League All-Stars: First baseman Balbino Fuenmayor, infielders Angel Franco, Alex Liddi and Raul Mondesi, outfielders Mike Bianucci, Jorge Bonifacio and Terrance Gore, and pitcher J.C. Sulbaran.

The Blue Rocks broke out of an offensive slump and received a strong outing from Eric Skoglund in a home win. Wilmington collected 11 hits after being blanked in the previous two games at Salem. Ramon Torres doubled home a pair of runs in the third, finishing with three RBI. Skoglund fanned eight without issuing a walk over 7.0 innings, yielding an unearned run. KC's third-round pick in 2014, Skoglund has a 2.77 ERA and 58 strikeouts to nine walks through 74.2 innings. Luis Rico tossed 2.0 perfect innings for the save.
