Omaha Storm Chasers (35-44)

The Storm Chasers were off on Wednesday. They host the Iowa Cubs tonight, with two-time Futures Game selection Yordano Ventura on the mound.

NW Arkansas Naturals (4-3 2nd half, 29-48 overall)

NW Arkansas 9, Midland 5

The Naturals built an 8-0 lead in an opening win over Midland. Cheslor Cuthbert started the scoring with a two-run single. Matt Fields belted a three-run homer in the second and Manuel Pina drove home in a pair in the third. Fields is tied for the Texas League lead in home runs. Aaron Brooks fanned eight and walked none, holding Midland to two runs on four hits over 6.0 innings.

Wilmington Blue Rocks (3-3 2nd half, 36-40 overall) Wilmington 6, Lynchburg 5

Wilmington held on for a one-run win, moving to 2-1 in a four-game set. Starter Kellen Moen scattered three runs and eight hits over 4.2 innings. Malcom Culver stranded two inherited runners on his way to 2.1 scoreless stanzas. Jack Lopez, Dennis Raben and Justin Trapp all recorded three hits plus an RBI. Raben is 9-for-15 in the series with three doubles, four RBI and three runs.

Lexington Legends (4-3 2nd half, 37-38 overall) Hickory 3, Lexington 2

HR: None

Lexington finished 1-2 at Hickory, with all three games decided by one run. Daniel Stumpf allowed three runs, four hits and two walks over 4.0 innings. Aroni Nina (3.0 IP) and Kevin Allen (1.0 IP) held the Crawdads scoreless in relief. Mark Donato and Mark Threlkeld each drove in a run. The Legends are at Hagerstown (Nationals) tonight.

Idaho Falls Chukars (2-5)

Idaho Falls 8, Orem 7

HR: Frank Schwindel 2 (1, 2)

Adrian Bringas doubled home Carlos Garcia, lifting Idaho Falls to an 11-inning win. Frank Schwindel slugged two homers, his first as a professional. The 18th-round pick hit a two-run shot in the sixth and a solo homer in the ninth. Humberto Arteaga posted three hits, including a game-tying double in the ninth.

Burlington Royals (5-2) Bluefield 7, Burlington 3
LP: Ben Tomchick (0-1)
HR: Pedro Gonzalez (1)

Burlington allowed six runs over the last three innings in an opening loss at Bluefield. Starter Matt Tenuta limited the Jays to a run on five hits over 5.0 innings. Pedro Gonzalez finished 2-for-3 with a two-run homer. Mauricio Ramos added two hits and two runs while boosting his average to .346 (9-for-26).

Surprise Royals (3-3)

Arizona Padres 6, Surprise 5
LP: Christian Flecha (0-1)
HR: None

Surprise lost at home as the Padres plated five runs (one earned) in the second. Greg Billo faced two batters in his first rehab appearance since undergoing "Tommy John" surgery. Billo led the Midwest League in ERA in 2011. Jecksson Flores recorded two hits and two RBI.
